VISITS

On Dec. 23, 2024, the rehabilitation of the Villa's Historic Park was completed, thanks to the funding received from PNRR resources - mission 1 - digitization, innovation, competitiveness and culture, component 3 - culture 4.0 (M1C3), measure 2 "regeneration of small cultural sites, cultural, religious and rural heritage, investment 2.3: "programs to enhance the identity of places: historic parks and gardens" funded by the European Union - NextGeneration EU. The project focused on the renovation of the green components of the garden, as well as the restoration of some architectural parts.

Precisely, it has been possible to restore the several statues located in the park to their original beauty, as well as the belvederes along the Poscola Creek that allow all visitors to enjoy the bucolic panorama surrounding the Villa. In an effort to improve accessibility and accommodate everyone, the roofs of the west “barchessa” and the main access passages were renovated and secured.

In addition, in the “portico”, the restoration of the flooring has been completed and the limestone pathway that runs from the “barchessa” itself flanks the terrace and the west side of the fishpond has been created to ensure that every person can fully participate without barriers in the visiting experience.

The funding also allowed for interventions in the green areas, where some fine plant specimens were cut down, pruned, and replaced.

As per the ancient lay out of the park, the double avenue of Celtis was restored, introducing the missing tree elements (Cupressus, Carpinus, Tilia) and the collection of lemon plants was reported.

Finally, the great innovation, which the project has enabled, is the creation of a bio-lake that increases the biodiversity of the park and allows visitors to have an even more complete experience in contact with nature.

Even more, with the arrival of the warm season, it will be possible to admire the villa and its flower park in their renewed splendour.

Reservation for visits are required; visits are conducted with a guide for groups of a minimum of 15 people. All exteriors, the 18th-century park, and the Italian garden are visited.

Special conditions are reserved for schools, universities, cultural and religious organizations and associations.
