The municipal administration's decision to choose Villa da Schio as the location for the civil ceremony dates back to 2014.
The mayor stated on the occasion of the deliberation that 'in addition to the town hall and the La Loggia hall in Palazzo Barbaran, which is municipal property, it will now also be possible to celebrate weddings in Villa da Schio, which is privately owned».
Due to the numerous requests to celebrate the wedding ceremony in the Villa, the bureaucratic impediments were resolved and, as the mayor pointed out, the "resolution to that effect, authorising the wedding in the Villa, celebrated in the presence of the mayor or his delegate".
The first official ceremony took place on 6 September 2014.
